The game is now available to download. There isn’t much you can do yet, but people wanted a demo, so here it is. Please report any bugs you find on the discord, unless they are already mentioned on the Known Bugs section in the README.txt file.

Space station

A new space structure has been added. The space station is where you will be spending a lot of time doing upgrades and trading. The exterior is mostly complete, but the interior is very incomplete at the moment. The space station has 3 landing bays, and the upper floor has an NPC you can trade with and a weapon upgrade bench.

Starship flight

The flight controls have been revamped to be much better than they were before. The weapon system is very incomplete, and I’m not satisfied with the weapon system on space ships yet. Also a new space ship is being designed that will replace the old one, having new animations.

Modding

If you download the project, you will notice a folder named DAT. You can actually go into that folder and modify or add files to change the game. It is very powerful, allowing you to add new items, change the names of things, and in the future, much more will be added, including the ability to create custom questlines.

Weapon upgrade terminal and NPCs

You can now talk to simple NPCs. They currently have no AI, but you can speak to them and sell items to them, and buy items from them. With the weapon upgrade terminal, you can improve your weapons to make them more powerful and useful.

Other experiments

I have been working on ground building generation. It is not yet complete, and you cannot find buildings on the terrain at the moment. But it is a good start.

What I plan to add next

Currently there isn’t much you can actually do. You cant find items to make money, and there is currently only one upgrade type for weapons, for testing purposes. More will be added later, but it will take time before I move back to weapons. Right now I’m focusing on adding core features that don’t yet exist, instead of expanding on the stuff that already exists.

Next month I hope to add more items that you can loot, places you can loot them from, and ship customization.
